This is an exciting time for Up Our Street, as we are merging with Easton Community Centre and Felix Road Adventure Playground. Up Our Street is a trusted brand with a large network and longstanding relationships in the community. We are looking for dynamic, creative and passionate people to help us build a place of possiblity for the neighbourhoods of Easton and Lawrence Hill.

Engagement Worker
Salary £22,441 to £24,589 pro rata
Initially 12-month contract
22.5 hours per week (some evenings and weekends)
25 days annual leave, pro rata
Up to 7% matched pension contribution

Purpose of the job
Responsible for community development projects, enabling Up Our Street to achieve its aim of inspiring, informing and motivating people to create change where they live.

Facilities Coordinator
Salary: £26,134 to £28,987 pro rata
Initially 12-month contract
22.5 hours per week
25 days annual leave, pro rata
Up to 7% matched pension contribution

Purpose of the job
To provide comprehensive, high quality and efficient support to ensure the smooth running of Up Our Streets three buildings. Including leading on capital improvements, day to day running of the buildings, managing service and utility contracts, being the first point of contact for tenants, and the effective development and delivery of a planned maintenance schedule.

Place Maker for Newtown and Old Market
Wage: £9.83 per hour
Duration: Fixed term to June 2021
Hours: equivalent of a day a week
Start date: As soon as possible

Purpose of the job
Up Our Street is recruiting a Place Maker to work with residents in Newtown and Old Market over the next 18 months to create more opportunities for people to get involved in their local community.

Who are we looking for?

  • Someone who is rooted in their local community and is passionate about making it a better place to live for everyone. You might already be involved in organising for your community in a voluntary capacity but are keen to develop skills and move into paid work in this area.
  • You will be good at working with diverse groups of people, someone who likes to get things done, and most importantly an excellent listener.
  • The hours are very flexible and part-time making it suitable for someone who is not in full-time employment, is a carer, or is involved in other voluntary activities.
