Coronavirus (COVID-19) update from Up Our Street, Easton Community Centre and Felix Road Adventure Playground.

Post date 27 March 2020

Update 27 March 2020

Easton Community Centre is now be closed to the public until further notice. We had planned on keeping the centre open on Wednesdays, however, given the circumstances we feel the safest thing to do at this time is close. We will continue to review things and look forward to welcoming you back to Easton Community Centre and Felix Road Adventure Playground as soon as we can.

Even though our buildings are closed we are still working behind the scenes to support and connect people in Easton and Lawrence Hill. We are working with other local partners, the NHS and Bristol City Council to coordinate food parcel delivery to the most vulnerable in our neighbourhood and we may be asking for your help so watch this space.

All office staff will be working from home where possible. Our emails will still be monitored during office hours (Monday -Friday 9am to 5pm). We will be on hand to respond to the crisis and requests from partners and our community as things develop.

The health and safety of the people attending our events, using Easton Community Centre and Felix Road Adventure Playground is our top priority. All three organisations have been, and will continue to, closely monitor advice offered by the government, NHS, and a range of other advisory bodies.

We are taking action to protect our communities and the people we work with. We are particularly mindful of vulnerable people we come into contact with and the need to be supportive, calm and proactive.

We will be closely monitoring the situation and responding to the need of the community in the coming weeks and months. We are currently talking to other citywide organisations and local community buildings to discuss how we might respond to community need during the peak of the crisis.

We also want to hear from our community. Tell us what you need, what your community needs and how we can help and support you in these extraordinary times.

Keep an eye on our social media channels, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and sign up to our fortnightly ebulletin, for our community response as things progress.

It’s also important that we all think of others and do what we can to support the most vulnerable.

We will be reviewing these measures regularly and welcome your feedback.
