Bristol Libraries  - new ideas created together

Post date 8 January 2019

Bristol City Council wants to know… have you got ideas or suggestions for your library and its building? Can you help make these ideas happen?

You are invited to come to a community event on 29 January, which will bring local people and organisations together to look for opportunities for community-led activities and partnerships to create a library service for the future. This is everyone’s opportunity to work together to pilot new ideas. Up Our Street will be hosting a table at this event to talk about Junction 3 Library in Easton. Other libraries being discussed at this event are Hillfields, Fishponds, and St George.

The council says that “The library service is greatly valued but it needs to change to be more relevant to the neighbourhood and local people.  We need to work together to create a library service which will serve future generations and be well connected to everything else that’s going on in the local area.”

This is your chance to be part of it – just come along with your ideas.

When: Tuesday 29 January, 10am to 12noon OR 7pm to 9pm

Where: Rose Green Centre, 65 Gordon Rd, BS5 7DR

Please visit www.bristol.gov.uk/libraryideas to book or visit your local library for help with your booking. Up Our Street can provide transport to the Rose Green Centre if there is enough interest – please get in touch with Saliha on 0117 953 2834.
